An 8-year-old karate sensation, Vedansh Pranhulia, hailing from Siddhpur village in Chamba district, has made headlines by clinching a gold medal at the North India Zone Karate Championship. This prestigious event took place on November 7, 2025, at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The championship was organized by the Karate Bharat Sangathan, which is affiliated with several international karate organizations, including the World Karate Federation of India (WKFI) and the Asian Karate Federation (AKFI). Vedansh competed in the sub-junior category, where he faced off against over 300 young athletes.
He attributes his success to the steadfast support of his parents, Shefali and Navleen Pranhulia, along with his coaches, Kanchan Thakur and Pawan Thakur. His achievement not only honors Chamba district but also enhances the reputation of Himachal Pradesh on a national level.
Upon his return to Chamba, Vedansh was greeted with a warm and enthusiastic reception from the local community. This victory adds to his accolades, as he has previously secured gold at the state level, consistently demonstrating his skill and commitment to karate.
